DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Dubuque Community School District announced Friday the new head volleyball and cheerleading coaches for Hempstead High School.

Travis Willis will be the new volleyball head coach. He is Clarke's University's assistant men's volleyball coach.

Shawna Auderer will be the new cheerleading head coach. She was Hempstead's assistant coach of cheerleading in the 2013-14 season.

Willis has served as assistant men's volleyball coach at Clarke since 2012, where he also played for the Crusaders for two seasons as a student athlete. He has also served as head freshman volleyball coach and assistant varsity coach at Southwestern High School in Hazel Green, Wis. At the club level, Willis has coached multiple seasons in Galena, Ill. with the 16-, 17- and 18-year-old girl's level.

Willis is a commercial credit analyst at American Trust and Savings Bank.

Auderer, who served as Hempstead's assistant cheerleading coach last season, has been involved in a number of other sports at the school, including cross country, bowling, track and wrestling. She has been involved with cheerleading at the high school, college and travel team levels.

Professionally, Auderer has been a sign language interpreter with the Dubuque Community School District for 15 years. She is assigned to Carver Elementary School for the 2014-15 school year.

The hires will be effective pending approval of the Dubuque Community School District's board of education at its next meeting.
