Hundreds expected at memorial ride for Evansdale cousins

Posted: Updated:
EVANSDALE (KWWL) -

The annual "Memorial Ride & Drive for the Girls" in memory of Lyric and Elizabeth will be this Saturday.

All motorcycles and cars are welcome.

The event is in memory of Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins, two cousins from Evansdale who went missing on July 13, 2012, while riding their bicycles near Meyers Lake in Evansdale.

Their bodies were found in early December 2012 by hunters in Bremer County.

All proceeds from Saturday's ride will be split between the Cedar Valley Crimestoppers and the Angels Memorial Park in Evansdale.

Registration is $20 outside Lofty's Lounge, located at 3480 Lafayette Road in Evansdale, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

The ride will begin at 11 a.m., and has scheduled stops in Waverly, Reinbeck and LaPorte City.

Live music from Dennis Wayne Gang and Minitallica, as well as a free will donation dinner, will begin at Lofty's Lounge at 6 p.m.
