CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The Third Annual Heroes' Safety Camp takes place this week in Cedar Rapids, and continues until Friday. The camp for kids is co-sponsored by the Cedar Rapids Fire Dept. and Cedar Rapids Police Dept.

Children have the chance to use fun, hands-on activities to learn about safety education; topics include 911 emergencies, bicycle safety, first aid, poison safety, water safety and stranger danger.

Kids six to eight years of age will tour the fire and police station, visit the dispatch center, and also meet a bike patrol officer.

Camp is held at the Cedar Rapids Fire Department Central Fire Station, located at 713 1st Avenue SE, from 9 a.m. to noon for the remainder of the week.
