WEST UNION (KWWL) -

New Hampton used a 4 run 4th inning to rally past North Fayette Valley in regional softball Tuesday night. The win was just the 4th in the past 15 games for the Chickasaws and ends the season for a Tigerhawk team that had won 28 games this season.

North Fayette Valley took a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Val Butikofer knocked an RBI double off the wall in left center. New Hampton's Katherine Hemesath blooped an RBI base hit in the third to pull the Chickasaws back within one. Emily Schwickerath then capped off a 4 run 4th inning with an opposite field RBI hit as New Hampton took a lead they would not relinquish.

New Hampton advances to face Crestwood in the next round on Friday night.
