Linn County offering chainsaw help for storm cleanup

Posted: Updated:
LINN COUNTY (KWWL) - Heavy rain caused a lot of flooding in Cedar Rapids last week and the cleanup process continues. Houses flooded and many trees were damaged.

Now, Linn County is offering its residents some help. Linn County Emergency Management is working with Neighbors Across the Land Disaster Relief and Recovery to provide chainsaw teams. They'll also help clean up basements and provide other cleanup necessities.

The group's mission is to help veterans, elderly, low income, and people with special needs and non-profits.

To register for volunteer assistance, call 2-1-1 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
