Posted: Updated:
DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Mississippi River is finally on the decline after several weeks of being above flood stage in many river cities.

On Monday afternoon it was still at moderate flood stage in Dubuque, but it's going down.

The National Weather Service predicts the Mississippi River in Iowa will dip below flood stage later this week.
