Cedar Rapids bank robbed twice in matter of weeks

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Cedar Rapids police are asking for help tracking down another bank robber.

Police say a man robbed the Guaranty Bank at 191 Jacolyn Drive NW a little after 10 a.m. Monday. That's the second time this bank has been robbed in a matter of weeks. The last robbery was June 25.

Police say the man had a gun and demanded cash.

Surveillance video caught a look at the suspect. In the photo, the suspect appears to be wearing makeup to darken his skin tone.

This is the eighth bank robbery in Cedar Rapids since late April:

  • 4/30: US Bank, 129 16th Ave SW
  • 5/2: Hills Bank and Trust, 240 3rd Ave SE
  • 5/16: Guaranty Bank, 2711 Bever Ave SE
  • 5/29: Guaranty Bank, 2711 Bever Ave SE
  • 6/25: Guaranty Bank, 191 Jacolyn Dr NW
  • 6/26: US Bank, 129 16th Ave SW
  • 7/7 : Guaranty Bank, 191 Jacolyn Dr NW

There was one bank robbery in Cedar Rapids in 2013.
