The forecast will be muggy and warm again Monday, with another chance of storms late this afternoon and evening.

Some of the storms Monday may be strong to severe, with damaging winds and large hail.

The Storm Prediction Center has shifted the slight risk of severe weather to the east. It now completely covers eastern Iowa, southwestern Wisconsin and western portions of Illinois.

The main threat will be damaging winds and large hail, but a tornado or two may occur. Heavy rain may fall, too, with the heaviest amounts expected in our southern counties.

Most of the activity will spark late this afternoon through the evening as our warm, muggy atmosphere becomes more and more unstable and a warm front tracks through the region.

Things get more comfortable Tuesday through Thursday as high pressure tracks in from the west.
