Burglary suspect in hospital after jumping out window

Posted: Updated:

The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office says a burglary suspect is in the hospital after he jumped out of a window.

Black Hawk County Sheriff deputies were called to a burglary alarm at the Black Hawk County Landfill Thursday around 4:09 a.m.

A stolen truck was found nearby, and when deputies went to investigation, they say Jason Hall barricaded himself inside a maintenance building at the landfill. Officials say Hall tried to jump out a window to escape, and he fell about ten feet.

Hall was taken to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, then an ambulance took him to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

Black Hawk County officials say Hall will likely face a burglary charge once released.
