Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Inspectors with the City of Cedar Rapids are assessing flash flood damage to properties throughout the city. They believe much of the damage done to homes poses a significant safety hazard to the occupants, and should be verified by a professional.

Residents with flooded basements, disconnected utilities and structural damage should contact the Building Services Division hotline at 319-286-5903. More details on how to proceed are available there.

Residents in need of disaster support are encouraged to call 211 and register with United Way.
