The Iowa Department of Human Services is offering incentive programs for Iowa Health and Wellness Plan members with healthy behaviors.
DHS launched a new website, www.iahealthlink.gov, where members can find more information on the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan and the incentives.
Members who use the Healthy Behaviors Program complete a health risk assessment and a physical exam will not be charged a monthly premium for the following year.
DHS says the program will eventually offer members a range of financially-based incentives beyond the waiver of monthly contributions, and providers will get enhanced reimbursement for each member completing wellness activities.
More than 110,000 Iowans have signed up for the bipartisan-approved Iowa Health and Wellness Plan which launched Jan. 1, 2014. It provides comprehensive health care coverage to uninsured Iowans ages 19-64 with incomes up to and including 133 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, or about $15,500 for an individual.
