CORALVILLE (KWWL) - Officials say Coralville Lake's water level is holding steady today at 703.67 feet, but is still expected to crest at 711.3 feet Tuesday.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is raising the outflow to 18,000 cubic feet per second.

The City of Iowa City is asking for sandbagging volunteers to prepare for the flooding.

Flood preparations are reportedly going well at the University of Iowa and the main campus remains open today.

Seventeen Johnson County roads are closed today, down from 24 yesterday, but more closures are likely soon.

Five area neighborhoods were issued mandatory evacuation orders yesterday and a boating ban remains in effect for the Iowa River below the Coralville Dam.

The Iowa DNR cautions boaters to be careful on all Iowa waterways this weekend due to large amounts of debris.
