DUBUQUE COUNTY (KWWL) -

Strong winds Monday ripped several roofs off homes at the Spring Valley Mobile Home Park in Dubuque County.

The park is on US Highway 52, between Dubuque and St. Donatus.

Neighbors say nobody was injured but three or four of the homes had part or all of their roofing come off.

Dave Lang was home with his wife and son when they saw the wind tear the roof off their neighbor's home.

"There was rotation, and the trees were rotating clockwise from the wind blowing,” Lang said, adding the wind then “went counter clockwise, and everything just started exploding -- you know, coming apart.”

He said the experience was a scary one. He and his family could feel their home shake.

“Usually when a storm comes, I get out of here and go somewhere. Today I didn't. I will from now on!" he said with a chuckle.

Lang counts himself fortunate, given the damage some of his neighbors' homes received. He lost a big part of the tree in his front yard.

Other damage in the park included a blown-away shed and siding, plus fallen trees and tree branches.
