 Several members of the Cedar Rapids Kernels' grounds grew suffered injuries following Monday’s game v. Clinton.

The game  was suspended after nine innings with the game tied 3-3.  The 10th inning did not start as the umpires called everyone off the field with severe weather moving close to the ballpark.  After the game several members of the Kernels' grounds crew were attempting to pull the tarp over the wet field when they were assaulted by high winds.   Jessica Fergesen, director of corporate sales and marketing, said the injuries  included concussions and dislocated shoulders. Fergesen said no emergency vehicles were called and the workers were treat by the Kernels training staff for their injuries.
