WATERLOO (KWWL) - Severe weather hit eastern Iowa again on Monday afternoon with heavy rain causing flash flooding across the area.

Numerous streets were covered in water and strong winds were also prevalent, knocking down trees and limbs.

As of 4:30 p.m., Mid-American Energy says 3,916 customers are without power in Waterloo. According to Alliant Energy, 37,821 customers are without power in Linn County.

Initial damage reports include a tree taking out part of a house in Belle Plaine and the Toddville American Legion's roof blown off.

A business owner in Traer says much of the city is a mess with multiple trees down across town.
