Two fires at the same address in North Liberty

Posted: Updated:
NORTH LIBERTY (KWWL) -

The North Liberty Fire Department was called twice to the same home early Sunday morning, just before 1 a.m.

Firefighters responded to 35 East Weston Dr. for a house fire, but all the flames were out by the time fire crews arrived.

Rescuers were called to the same home again about six hours later because of smoke.  Firefighters found a smoldering fire in the ceiling.

The North Liberty Fire Department says the second location was remote from the original fire and caused by heat transfer of the wires in the ceiling.

There's no damage estimate yet, and the first fire cause is still being determined. It's believed to be an accident. No one was hurt.
