Posted: Updated:
JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) - An inmate at the Johnson County Jail died due to hypertensive heart disease.

According to Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek, Gwendolyn Bolen was found in her cell on May 31, 2014. Deputies were called to her area after she was unresponsive. Deputies found she had no pulse and was not breathing.

Pulkrabek says deputies tried to resuscitate her and called for an ambulance. Bolen was taken to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy showed Bolen died due to hypertensive heart disease. That information was released to the sheriff Friday.
