Road damage from flash flooding minimal, says DOT

Posted: Updated:

Officials at the Iowa Department of Transportation say road damage from recent flash floods was minimal.

Pete Hjelmstad, field services coordinator with the DOT, says there was approximately $10,000 to $15,000 worth of damage done in District 2, which includes Black Hawk, Bremer, Chickasaw and Winneshiek counties.

Once roads and bridges are covered in water, they must be certified before re-opening.
