Iowa City school board president resigns

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The Iowa City School Board President resigned Tuesday night.

Sally Hoelscher says she is resigning due to personal reasons. This resignation is effective immediately.

Hoelscher was elected to the school board in 2011 and selected at president last September. She received a B.S. at Drake University and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.

The board is now working to appoint a new president.
