Former NFL Star Aaron Kampman remembers life lessons from the late Ed Thomas

Ed Thomas is remembered for the positive impact he had on so many lives. He was a great living example as a father, husband, teacher, coach and man of God.

Many remember the great success he had as a football coach--the 292 victories, the 2 state titles--the 19 state playoff appearances and the four players from the small Aplington-Parkersburg school district who went on to play at least ten years or more in the National Football League.

Recently retired NFL star Aaron Kampman remembers the life lessons he learned from coach thomas long after he had left A-P.

During a visit to Cedar Rapids this month Kampman said, "
Well the first thing he continued to be a guy who talked about commitment--the ability to start what you finish --be loyal.. He always would say from when I graduated high to when I talked on the phone--he's always end the conversation don't forget where you came from and good things happen to good people--most of just kind of mantras that making good choices good things can happen."

Kampman, Brad Meester, Jared Devries and Casey Wiegmann are all former Thomas players who had long and productive NFL careers.
