Minnesota Wild tour rolls through Waterloo

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The NHL descended on Waterloo as the Minnesota Wild summer road tour rolled through town. Current players Eric Haula and Stephan Veilleux, along with former team member Antii Laaksonen, spent an hour signing autographs, taking pictures, and chatting up fans.

Haula was making a return trip to Waterloo. As a former member of the USHL's Omaha Lancers, Haula played several games inside Young Arena. He was happy to see a friendlier crowd on Tuesday afternoon.

"I think it's rewarding both ways," said Haula, "They give so much by supporting us. It's always nice to give something back and see the smiles on their faces when you do something so little."

"We're fortunate that we have great fans in Minnesota," added Veilleux, "but to be a few hours away from Saint Paul and still get the support from the people here, for us it means a lot."

The 3 day tour also stopped in Des Moines on Tuesday morning.
