Posted: Updated:

Action movie star and professional wrestler Randy Couture will visit the Waterloo Dan Gable wrestling museum in July.

Couture, star of the film "The Expendables," will receive the George Tragos Award at the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame induction on July 18 and 19.

“Having Randy Couture in Waterloo means a lot to me, and it means a lot to the sport of wrestling,” said museum namesake Dan Gable. “Randy represents the highest standard in wrestling and in mixed martial arts.”

The Tragos Award is given to competitive wrestlers that have used their skills to excel in mixed martial arts (MMA). Couture boasts a 19-11 record in MMA.

Tickets to the event are available by calling (319) 233-0745 or by e-mailing dgmstaff@nwhof.org.
