MANCHESTER (KWWL) -

Dyersville Beckman scored early and held on late to defeat West Delaware 8-5 Monday night. The win snapped the Hawks 15 game winning streak.

Beckman, ranked 3rd in class 2A, jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead after Mitch Steger scored on a wild pitch in the second inning. The Blazers eventually stretched that lead to 5 runs.

West Delaware, class 3A's #2 team, rallied in the third to get back in the game with a little help from the Blazers' pitching staff. Starter Connor Klostermann walked in run, while another scored on a bases loaded hit by pitch. Reliever Riley Vorwald walked in another as part of a 4 run 3rd inning which pulled the Hawks within one run.

It would stay that way until the 7th, when Beckman's Sam Deutmeyer capped the scoring with a 2 run double in to the gap in right centerfield.
