PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (KWWL) -

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's summer stock theater program, the Heartland Festival, will be raising money on Friday to support the Platteville Tornado Relief Fund.

Last Monday night, two tornadoes ripped through Platteville, Wisconsin.

One, an EF-2, hit Platteville's southwest side, damaging businesses, homes and six UW-Platteville structures. The other twister was an EF-1 and hit Platteville's northeast side, ripping the roof off an apartment building.

Altogether, five people were injured and 12 homes were destroyed, with many other structures receiving significant damage.

The Heartland Festival announced it would help Monday on its Facebook timeline.

"After the events of last week, the outpouring of support from the Platteville community was wonderful," the message said. "Now, the Heartland Festival Company wants to give back."

On Friday, the Heartland Festival will hold an additional performance of its rock musical, "Next to Normal." That will be at 7:30 p.m. at UW-Platteville's Center for the Arts, located at 755 West Main Street in Platteville. UW-Platteville advises the musical is for mature audiences.

Tickets are $10, and all the proceeds will go to the Platteville Tornado Relief Fund.

People can call the University Box Office for tickets at 877.727.1232 or 608.342.1298.
