Aid continues pouring to Platteville, Wisconsin

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker declared Grant County in a state of emergency in response to tornadoes that impacted Southwest Wisconsin earlier this week.

Grand County Emergency Management coordinator, Steven Braun said Friday, volunteers have been flocking to Platteville, Wisconsin, to help in disaster relief efforts. He said the town has seen so many volunteers that volunteers have been pushed away.

Linda Bull owns a home that suffered damage Monday night after an EF-2 tornado swept through the area. She said the support for herself and her neighbors has been overwhelming.

"They came and they helped. They just moved from block to block, from house to house, and just helped us with whatever we needed," Bull said.

Bull said all she can say is thank you to all those who have helped out in anyway possible.

Braun said the county is in more need of financial donations. He said a relief fund has been set up to help victims of the tornadoes that struck Platteville. Donations can be sent to Mound City Bank, 25 E. Pine Street, Platteville, WI.
