Attorney not pursuing rape case at New Hampton High School

NEW HAMPTON (KWWL) -

The attorney who claimed his client -- a 17-year-old student at New Hampton High School -- was raped in the boys' locker room in March, told KWWL on Wednesday he is no longer pursuing the case.

In an email, attorney Jason Abraham from Hupy and Abraham said, "We have decided to no longer look into the matter."

Further inquiries to Abraham as to why the case was no longer being pursued by his office were not answered.

"I am not at liberty to share anything," he said in an email.

Chickasaw County Attorney Pat Wegman, however, told KWWL Wednesday the investigation into the matter is still happening.
