Cedar Rapids wants to know: What do you want in city parks?

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Tell the City of Cedar Rapids what you want to see at city parks -- and the city says they'll listen.

Many homes that were destroyed in the 2008 flood were knocked down, and the city will turn the land into parks.

Over the past several months, the parks and recreation department has asked residents what they want to see.

Thursday is the final open house for comments. It's being held from 6-8 p.m. at the Flamingo Restaurant and Event Center, located at 1211 Ellis Blvd NW.

The city is coming up with plans for the Time Check, Riverfront, and Czech Village Greenway areas.

At past sessions, residents have suggested things like a ropes course or an ice trail.

After Thursday's meeting the city will post designs online to collect more suggestions before finalizing designs.
