Cyclones land top football recruit Bryce Meeker of CR Prairie

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

For the third straight year, Paul Rhoads and the Iowa State football program receives a commitment from the state of Iowa's top recruit.

Two years ago, it was Jake Campos of West Des Moines Valley. Last year, it was Allen Lazard of Ames.

Monday, the Cyclones receive a verbal commitment from 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive lineman Bryce Meeker of Cedar Rapids Prairie, who is the number-one ranked high school football recruit in Iowa in the class of 2015 by rivals.com.

Meeker earned Class 4A second-team honors by the Des Moines Register last fall.
