DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

More than 300 people took part in a grueling 60 hour relay race this weekend. The race, called Relay Iowa, wrapped up in Dubuque Sunday after starting in Sioux City on Friday.

This is the 5th year for the race which raises money for Restoring Hope International - an orphanage in South Africa which provides care and shelter to South African children orphaned by aids.

Mark Powers is from Cedar Rapids. He's run in the event every year. He says it's a hard race.

"Anybody who says Iowa is flat, doesn't know iowa. It's lots of hills especially this first 70 miles and the western half and you certainly get it in the easter half," Powers said.

This year's event raised $25,000 for Restoring Hope International.
