Grout Museum plans D-Day cemetery walk Saturday

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) - To commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the Grout Museum District will host a D-Day cemetery walk over the weekend.

Organizers will hold a D-Day Remembrance Spirit Walk on Saturday.

Attendees will be bussed from the Grout Museum, and a World War II actor will lead a walk through Fairview Cemetery in Waterloo at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The cost for the walk is $10 for non-members of the museum, and $8 for members.

Science educator Jordan Walker with the Grout said they wanted to do something for the anniversary.

"It's one of the biggest turning points of World War II," he said.

The Grout Museum will also host a meal on site for attendees in between sessions.
