CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Cedar Rapids police say a man already in jail has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of 37-year-old Shanna Lee Beyhl.

Greg Buelow, the Public Safety Communications Coordinator for Cedar Rapids, says 32-year-old Bobbie Harold Little is now charged with first degree murder for Beyhl's death.

Beyhl was found stabbed to death in her apartment at 228 Jacolyn Drive SW on April 4 during a welfare check.

Little was arrested and charged with second degree theft on April 8 after he was found in possession of Beyhl’s cell phone, two televisions, a DVD player and video gaming system. Little has been in the Linn County Jail since that arrest.

Buelow says Little's fingerprints, clothing and shoes were found at the scene. He says Beyhl's DNA was found on the shoes and clothing.

There have been seven homicides in Cedar Rapids this year. This is the first case in which an arrest has been made. Two of the cases have been classified as murder-suicide's. Those two case involved three murder victims.
