Beckman – last year's runner-up in 1-A – opening up against Columbus Junction –and the Blazers get off to a solid start – Carter Boekholder with a great through ball to Kyle Grover for the finish – 1, nothing Beckman at half –second half – check out the great individual effort by Jared Lueken – sneaks it past the keeper – Lueken with 2 goals in the game --Beckman's in to the semifinals with a 3, nothing win

Blazers would get the winner of Mid-Prairie and Riverside of Oakland –and it was all Mid-Prairie – Nick Stimson shows that persistence pays off – finally poking it in to the goal –Golden-Hawks roll 6 to 1 –

In the bottom of the bracket – defending champ Iowa City Regina had their way with West Central Valley –
First half – Emilio Tovar with a great pass to Jacob Adam for the goal – Regals would lead 3, nothing at half –and they'd tack on one more in the second – Nicolas Ziniel scores on the penalty kick –Regina moves to the semis with a 4, 1 win --

Number one Waverly-Shell Rock got a scare in 2A from Dewitt Central –tied at 2 in the second half – Tanner Hanks with a great feed to Isaiah Mundell – pretty play had the Go-Hawks up late –but off the corner kick – Dewitt Central's Derek Henningsen heads it in – it would go to overtime – and eventually penalty kicks –The Go-Hawk shooters did their job – hitting on 6 straight attempts –and it came down to Alex Denton in goal – finally getting the save that would end it –Go-Hawks survive 4-3 to advance to Friday –


 
Xavier – the defending champs – opening as the underdog against top seeded HHeelan–Saints up a goal in the second half – but Heelan's free kick bounces off Xavier's Jeremy Jacoby – an OWN GOAL – ties it at 2 –but the Saints make up for it – Joshua Hoffman – using the angle – knocks it home – Xavier would go on to win in O-T 3-2 --

    Kee High baseball coach Gene Schultz is stepping down after 45 years at the helm. Schultz leaves Kee as the nations all-time wins leader with a total of 1,754 in his career. The National Federation of State High School Associations recognizesSchultz's record as1,578 wins as those ones came during the summer baseball season. Under his direction, the Kee Hawks won 9 summer baseball state titles, and 11 total. The school's last state championship came in the 2005 season.More >>
