Cancer survivors offered free hair care

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Cancer survivors in eastern Iowa received a little tender care and pampering, Tuesday.

Capri College supports cancer survivors and offered free hair services in all their locations, including Cedar Rapids and Dubuque.

Guests could choose from a hair cut, thermal style, conditioner, and even facials.

It's part of a nationwide event that takes place every year on the first Tuesday in June.

It is a day of volunteering when individual in the beauty and related industries across the country offer free services to all men, women and children cancer survivors, regardless of their type of cancer.

The event was on a first-come, first-serve basis and all the work is done by students, supervised by an instructor.
