Cedar Rapids library sponsoring autism awareness expo
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -
The first Corridor Autism Awareness Expo (CARE) sponsored by the Cedar Rapids Public Library will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Beems Auditorium.
The library is partnering with local organizations and parents for an autism-specific vendor fair of organizations that support families and individuals affected by autism.
CARE participants will be able to network and find resources and other information.
Exhibitors include The Arc of East Central Iowa, Autism Speaks, Children's Center for Therapy, East Central Iowa Autism Society, Foundation 2, Four Oaks & Four Oaks Asperger's Group, Heartland Pest Control, Horizons, Regional Autism Assistance Program, Tanager Place, UNI Student Disability Services, West Music, Witwer Children's Therapy and more.
Furthermore, informational sessions, including presentations by Theatre Cedar Rapids and Frank Varvaris, will be available in Whipple Auditorium during the day.
