WATERLOO (KWWL) -
Monday, friends and family gathered in Waterloo to remember Norman Gant, who was shot and killed in Cedar Falls this weekend.
The crowd prayed for the 21-year-old, lit candles, and released balloons. Gloria Hence, Gant's aunt, said they hope to send a message that violence isn't the answer.
"We will get justice," Hence said. "I'm sad for the person that did it as well, because you took somebody's life, and you gave up your life."
Cedar Falls Police are still searching for a suspect in this killing, but say they don't believe the general public is in danger.
"We're just praying for justice for Norman," Hence said. "And, we're going to get through these days, and we're going to do what we have to, and we're going to do it with our heads held high, because that's what God would have us do."
