Cedar Rapids police investigating two reports of shots fired

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Cedar Rapids police are investigating two reports of shots fired that occurred overnight Monday.

The first incident was reported just after midnight on the 1900 block of K Street Southwest. Police say there were no injuries but a vehicle did receive damage.

The second incident was reported around 4:00 a.m. on the 3400 block of Clover Drive Southwest. There were no injuries and no property damage.

Both cases are currently under investigation. Whether the two are related or not is part of the investigation.

The Public Safety Communications Coordinator for the City of Cedar Rapids tells KWWL there have been 39 confirmed cases of shots fired in the city this year. In 2013 there were 56 cases.
