DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The second annual Dubuque Pride Picnic took place in Dubuque's Eagle Point Park on Sunday. The picnic is aimed at bringing inclusiveness with Dubuque's LGBT community. The picnic featured games, music, food, and performances.

Shawn Langel is the president of the Dubuque organization Out & Proud - Gay Dubuque. He said he believes the Dubuque community is relatively accepting of the LGBT community.

"I think for the most part it's relatively accepting. I think it's not a place that I feel I could walk down the street holding hands with my partner, but at the same time I don't feel like i'm going to be harassed," Langel said Sunday.

Langel said he hopes Sunday's event helps spark a conversation within the community.
