FAYETTE COUNTY (KWWL) - A motorcycle crash has sent two people to the hospital, one with serious injuries, Friday in Fayette County.

Rex Lawrence Manson, 66, of Independence, was driving a 2007 Honda Goldwing motorcycle westbound on Bush Road west of B Avenue in Fayette County when the motorcycle apparently left the roadway, entered the north ditch and overturned onto its side, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

Passenger Angela Manson, also from Independence, was air lifted from the scene with injuries, according to deputies.

Rex Manson was transported to Palmer Hospital in West Union with injuries, but is expected to recover, according to deputies.

He was cited for failure to maintain control. The motorcycle was a total loss.

Assisting the Fayette County Sheriff's Office were the Iowa State Patrol, Wadena Fire and First Responders and Fayette Ambulance.
