Bucks set for 2014 season opener

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) - Expectations are certainly high at Riverfront Stadium where the Waterloo Bucks are coming off one of the best seasons in franchise history. The Bucks rattled off a league record 51 wins before falling to Duluth in the post-season semifinals.
Now, the quest to build on that success has begun. The Bucks open the season on Tuesday at Rochester.
Travis Kiewiet returns as field manager, as does a large core of the 2014 team. Kiewiet says that when all's said and done, up to 14 players from last year's roster could be in a Bucks' uniform once again this season.
As for those expectations, the Waterloo head man says they're a good thing. "To come in this year and actually have people not ask if we're going to get to 500, but ask if we can do what we did last year, I'll definitely take that challenge everyday," said Kiewiet.
The Bucks return to Waterloo on Wednesday as they'll host Rochester in their home opener.
