Governor Mitt Romney will make his first trip back to Iowa since his presidential campaign in 2012. He will be campaigning for Joni Ernst in Davenport and Cedar Rapids May 30th, but details have yet to be released.
Ernst is currently running against four other GOP candidates for U.S. Senate. The winner will go against Democrat U.S. Representative Bruce Braley.
In a press release on Thursday, Governor Romney said, “We need Iowa to have a voice in the U.S. Senate that will protect and promote traditional conservative values, and Joni’s proven record in the state senate, her decades of leadership as a military officer, and her commitment to the values that were passed on to her as a girl on a Montgomery County farm make it clear to me that she is the very best Iowa has to offer.”
