Hackers steal user information from eBay

Posted: Updated:

EBay confirms its corporate network was hacked and a database with users' passwords was compromised.

The company says hackers stole a small number of employee log-in credentials that gave access to eBay's corporate network.

EBay is working with law enforcement to investigate the attack.

There is still no evidence any financial or credit card information was stolen, but eBay is asking users to change their passwords.

EBay says that the company's payment-processing unit, PayPal is safe and has seen no evidence of unauthorized access.
