DubuqueFest brings thousands to downtown Dubuque

Posted: Updated:

DubuqueFest took place in downtown Dubuque over the weekend for the 37th year. The festival is geared towards the arts and is a place where people can walk around Washington Park and look at artwork created by local artists.

The festival also features music and other group performances in the Town Clock Square.

Aaron Hefel is the co-director of the festival. He said the festival also serves as a way to meet new people in the area.

"When people meet and talk about art it's one of those ice breakers. The people start talking about other things and then friendships are born," Hefel said Sunday.

This year Hefel said DubuqueFest had between 5,000-10,000 people attend.
