New bike racks in Cedar Rapids

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - The City of Cedar Rapids is getting new bike racks. Rockwell Collins gave the city a $1,500 grant to build new bike racks at the Event Center.

More than 400 Rockwell employees work downtown. The bike racks will provide them, and others, with a safe place to store their bikes during the day when using the Events Center for meetings.

The Cedar River trail also passes the area.

The grant was specifically given to the BikeCR, part of the city's iGreenCR initiative. The goal of that initiative is to create a more sustainable Cedar Rapids.
