Sumner man charged with neglecting 60 horses waives hearing

Posted: Updated:
BREMER COUNTY (KWWL) - Last month, authorities in Bremer County arrested Steven Frahm, 59, of Sumner after they discovered more than 60 neglected horses at his residence.

Frahm was charged with ten counts of animal neglect, all simple misdemeanors, in addition to one serious misdemeanor of animal neglect.

Bremer County officials told KWWL Frahm's attorney waived his preliminary hearing, which had been scheduled for Monday.

They said it's not surprising, since Frahm previously posted bond and has not been in jail.

According to Bremer County officials, an arraignment date for Frahm has not been scheduled yet because Assistant Bremer County Attorney Jill Dashner has not filed any formal charges yet.
