Annual Houby Days about to kick off in Cedar Rapids

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - The 37th Annual Houby Days festival kicks off Friday.

This year's spring event will be held May 16-18 in Cedar Rapids.

Houby is Czech for "mushroom." The event celebrates Czech heritage in Cedar Rapids and, of course, mushrooms.

Events include the egg-and-houby breakfast, a flag-raising ceremony, car show, and games and crafts for kids.

Live performers will put on shows throughout the weekend.

The event is held in Czech Village in Cedar Rapids.
