WATERLOO (KWWL) -
The American Cancer Society and the Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo will be hosting a kick-off party for the Pink Ribbon Golf Classic Tuesday night.
The kick-off event will be on Tuesday night from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. It gives people a chance to register for the tournament early.
The 16th Annual American Cancer Society Pink Ribbon Golf Classic is open to the public. The goal of the tournament is to raise $50,000 for breast cancer research.
This year's tournament is set for July 29 at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo.
The Classic is a four-person best shot tournament held in both the morning and afternoon. It will feature a program honoring the 2014 Honorary Survivor. That person will be announced at 6:30 p.m. at Tuesday's kick-off party.
To register a four-person team is $400, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
After the tournament, the public is invited to the "Pink Ribbon Par-Tee" at Sunnyside, where organizers say guests can enjoy live music, appetizers and a cash bar. The "Par-Tee" is scheduled from 6-9 p.m. July 29.
