CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) - Cedar Falls Schools Superintendent Dr. Andy Pattee recently announced recommendations for two positions within the school district.

Pattee recommended Bill Boevers to the Cedar Falls Schools Board of Education as the Principal for Peet Junior High School. Boevers will assume his new role July 1.

Pattee also recommended Dave Meyer to the board as the new Associate Principal at Holmes Junior High for Cedar Falls Schools. Meyer will assume his role July 1.

Boevers joined the Cedar Falls Schools in 2001; he has been the Associate Principal and Activities Director at Holmes Junior High since 2010 and taught at Peet from 2001-2010. Prior to coming to Cedar Falls, Boevers taught at Aplington-Parkersburg Schools and Fort Dodge Senior High School.

I am honored and excited for the opportunity to lead and work with another outstanding staff," said Boevers. "Peet Junior High has a reputation of working together to promote student learning. I look forward to working closely with students, staff and parents."

Boevers earned his master’s degree in 1996 and his bachelor’s degree in 1990 from the University of Northern Iowa.

He and his wife, Amy, have two children; Clint who is a student at Peet, and Molly, a student at Cedar Heights.

Meyer, assuming the role of Associate Principal at Holmes Junior High, was a special educator at the middle school and high school level in the Decorah Community Schools for 20 years. He then served as principal for five years at MFL MarMac Community Schools.

For the past seven years, he has been the high school principal at Aplington-Parkersburg Community Schools. In both of his administrative positions he has served as the district-wide special education director.

Meyer earned his master’s degree from Drake University and a bachelor’s degree from Loras College. He also has six special education endorsements from the University of Northern Iowa.

Dave and his wife Jackie, who is on the faculty at Allen College, have four adult children. Their daughter, Leah, graduated from the University of Iowa, and sons Brian and Kyle both graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. Patrick, their youngest, is currently taking classes at Hawkeye Community College.

“I am excited for this opportunity and new challenge," Meyer said. "I possess a genuine love for learning, and I look forward to working with all the students, staff and community members in Cedar Falls Schools."
