Waterloo homeowner climbs through window to escape fire

WATERLOO (KWWL) - One person escaped possible injury by crawling out a window after a fire broke out at a home in Waterloo.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Adrian Street.

According to the Waterloo Fire Department, the fire started in a garbage can in the kitchen. Fire crews continue to investigate the cause further.

The homeowner crawled out of a basement window before the fire spread throughout the house.

No injuries were reported.
