BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) - ABATE of Iowa held its annual safety ride through Black Hawk County on Saturday afternoon.

The ride is held every year during Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.

More than 300 motorcyclists participated in the free ride in an effort to remind other drivers that they're back on the road.

"I've had a couple close calls with other cars, and I advise that everybody make sure you pay attention to what you're doing," said motorcyclist Chad White.

"If you're going to be on the road, you've got to be aware. You've got to realize that you're the one that's got to be the most careful," he said.

ABATE of Iowa members are now focusing their efforts for the second annual ride for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which will be held on Saturday, May 31st.
