Black Hawks looking for ticket sales in championship

Posted: Updated:

Between the hits, and the crowd, Black Hawks hockey is contagious this time of year.

"Yeah, you know, we say catch the fever," said Mike Falk, VP of Business Operations for the team. "It's Clark Cup fever."

Friday night, the team faced off against the Indiana Ice in game one of the Clark Cup Championship series. The Black Hawk's last won the cup in 2004.

Bob Stabenow said he's been to plenty of Black Hawks games.

"Hundreds!" he laughed.

He said the team may change, but one thing stays the same.

"You never know who's going to be the star of the night," he said. "But there's going to be couple."

The operators of Young Arena hope the series will bring in more fans. Before the game, Falk said ticket sales were average, but climbing.

"We'll look to push that number forward," Falk said.

Out in the parking lot, there was plenty of enthusiasm as well.

"It's a fast, fast-paced team," said Graham Paige, tailgater. "Always has been been."

"Don't miss it," Falk said. "It's the best hockey of the season."
